2011/12 Cadet Account Procedures
The
Cadet Account is an account that holds funds that may be used to pay
for all NJROTC related activities. The funds may come as a result of
fund raising, or may be deposited directly by you or your parents.
How can you use the funds in your Cadet Account? You can use the funds in your Cadet Account to participate in NJROTC sponsored events.
How can you know your Cadet Account balance? Details of each Cadet Account are recorded in the Cadet Account Book. This book contains ledger accounting for the balance of each Cadet Account.
How can you make deposits to your Cadet Account? There are two ways to make a deposit to your Cadet Account:
How does fund raising work? The CPO works hard to help you and all Cadets offset the expense of participating in extracurricular activities, by sponsoring fund raising activities. As 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entity, we are able to offer our donors a tax-deductible opportunity.
How do you make withdrawals from your Cadet Account to apply them to an NJRTOC Activity? To utilize the available funds in your Cadet Account:
Can funds be transferred between Cadet Accounts ? Funds can be transferred between two Cadets’ accounts only when the Cadets are siblings.
Can I withdraw funds from my Cadet Account for cash? No, the funds in the Cadet Account can only be used to offset NJROTC activities; no cash withdrawals or refunds can be made.
What happens if I leave the Unit before I graduate? Can I get a refund on any amounts in my Cadet Account? When you leave the unit, for whatever reason, your Cadet Account will be frozen, and your funds will no longer be available to you. You will not be entitled to a refund of the funds in your Account. However, the CPO will continue to keep track of your Cadet Account, and if you return to the Unit before you graduate, the funds will become available to you again. This means it is very important for you to monitor the available funds in your Cadet Account, and be sure that you are redeeming them appropriately.
What happens when I graduate? Any remaining funds in your Cadet Account will automatically be transferred to the NJROTC CPO general fund; this means it is very important for you to monitor the available funds in your Cadet Account, and be sure that you are redeeming them appropriately. However, if you have a sibling who remains in the Unit after your graduation, or joins the Unit in the fall semester immediately after your graduation, then your remaining funds will automatically be transferred to your sibling’s Cadet Account.
